Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) *A roadmap to wellness, designed by you.

What Is WRAP®?

The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) is an evidence-based approach that helps people identify what keeps them well, recognize early warning signs, and create personalized action plans to maintain wellness and recovery.

Developed by Mary Ellen Copeland, Ph.D., and recognized by SAMHSA as an evidence-based practice in mental health and recovery, WRAP® is used by individuals, families, and organizations around the world to promote self-awareness, balance, and empowerment.

How WRAP® Works

WRAP® is not a treatment — it’s a self-designed wellness process. Participants learn to:

  • Build a Daily Maintenance Plan for staying well

  • Identify Triggers and Early Warning Signs

  • Develop Crisis and Post-Crisis Plans

  • Strengthen support networks and coping strategies

  • Create a personalized guide for long-term recovery and stability

WRAP® is guided by five key values:
Hope, Personal Responsibility, Education, Self-Advocacy, and Support.

Why WRAP® Matters

At Guiding Light 4 Wellness, we believe recovery is not one-size-fits-all. WRAP® empowers individuals and organizations to define what wellness looks like for them — and gives them the tools to sustain it.

Whether taught in a recovery center, workplace, or community setting, WRAP® builds connection, confidence, and resilience through lived experience and shared learning.
